current work

I create hybrid sculptures and wall pieces that explore the tactile and expressive potential of fibre and clay, translating gestural movement into material form.

My practice draws on natural materials—fibre, wool, leather, clay, and earth pigments. By combining soft, flexible elements with the solidity of clay and the subtle hues of natural pigments, I investigate how rhythm, repetition, and touch can be embodied in material. Threads of wool and fibre, alongside strips of leather and coloured clay, extend gestural movement into layered, textural forms that a single material alone cannot achieve.

The earlier milestone series Hand to Hand (2016) and Crossing the Line (2017) laid the groundwork for these explorations. Through hand-building, winding threads, wrapping fibre, integrating leather, and applying earth pigments, I established a vocabulary of tactility and repetition that continues to shape my work today.

I am now developing new work that builds on these foundations while moving into new territory—focusing on the continuous flow of material and translating gesture into contemporary sculptural forms enriched with texture, colour, and resonance. This phase of my practice is still unfolding. Below are a few works-in-progress and studio images that suggest the direction of the work.
